NP. Neralyn Kingsbury (Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner ) is now providing annual and pre-fight medicals for boxing and mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters. These are available at the Family Practice at Kallangur.
Our medicals meet the requirements and standards of Boxing Australia (BA) and SafeMMA. By meeting these requirements we aim to ensure the safety of amateur and professional fighters.
As a member of a registered club you will need to undertake regular annual Boxing/MMA medicals to assess your fitness and risk of health complications. To compete in a BA or MMA fight you will also need a Pre-fight medical each and every time. In order to help you meet these requirements, our medicals can be booked online 24/7 and are available Monday-Friday (and some Saturdays). These medicals can include:
A review of medications
Physical function testing
Vision test
Blood test
Hearing test
Lung health test
Heart health test
Medicare does not cover Boxing or MMA medicals. Therefore fees do apply. While our annual Boxing/MMA medical has a fixed fee, the pre-fight medicals may vary depending on the tests is required at the time. For a quote, please call us.
