Find The Support You Need

Starting a family can evoke many different emotions, in different people. Regardless of how you feel about it, it is an emotional experience that can be very stressful. At the Family Practice we offer a range of services relating to pregnancy, family planning and contraception, to help keep you informed, to provide you with the support you need and to offer you the care that suits your situation.

Birth Control | Contraception

There is a range of contraception options on offer, so choosing the right one for you can be confusing. Make an informed decision, book an appointment with your GP or our sexual health specialist to get the facts. We can provide prescriptions for the contraception pill and the emergency contraceptive pill, Implanon implant insertion and removal (at selected practices only), contraceptive injections, and mirena insertion and removal (at selected practices only); so whatever your choice is, give us a call, we’re happy to help. Contact your nearest Family Practice to find out what is available onsite.

Maternity Care Planning | Shared Care

Antenatal care is critical during pregnancy, but that doesn’t mean you should have to travel far for the care you need. At the Family Practice we utilise a shared maternity care option so you can undertake some of your pregnancy care closer to home. Knowing what care you need and what is available will help you when you are pregnant, so why not speak to one of our practitioners about what we can offer you.

Postnatal Health Checks and Support

Our maternity care extends beyond the birth of your child. We can fulfil your 6 week postnatal health check (for mother and baby), and provide you with postnatal support. Postnatal depression is not uncommon, so if you feel you need to talk to someone about any concerns or issues you are having then our staff are on hand for you. Your wellbeing is important to us.

Nutritional Advice

We have dieticians available to assist you with your nutrition during and post pregnancy to ensure you and your baby are getting the right balance of vitamins and minerals. For the health of yourself and your baby, it’s important to make sure you are eating the right foods in the right quantities.
